I started my passion for computers as young lad. Windows wasn’t widely adopted yet and we were all in the command line in DOS with the infamous “C:\>” prompt. I even took DOS classes and at that time, I was the only one taking that class below the drinking age. While in Ateneo Grade School, I was always one of the people in front of the line to the Computer Lab taking learning BASIC and LOGO.

Street Fighter II: DOS Version -With Commentary-

Okay, this is possibly one of the worst conversions of a video game i've ever seen. Granted this was on DOS, and even the SNES had a hard time with trying to fit all of SFII on there, but still. Massive physics changes, entire control scheme changes, different sprites, almost no music selection, entirely broken bonus stages, the list goes on and on. Also possibly the only Street Fighter game where Dhalsim is S-Tier, too. Hell, he's in a tier of his own, Dhalsim-tier. You can get many DOS games like this, called "abandonware" (as the original creators don't sell the game anymore) at www.abandonia.com legally and free. If you're going to Fan Expo in Canada, I was going but I can't go anymore, so if you're looking for a weekend ticket i'm selling mine for $15 cheaper than the regular price (and I checked with the expo, it's legal to do this), so i'm selling at $45. Blood 1 - Playthrough E1M5

:: Blood :: © 1997, Monolith Software A classic FPS, from Doom and Duke days. It could've competed with them handily were Monolith Software not such an obscure upstart at the time, imo. That, and the difficulty. Anyone who's played this knows you die. A LOT. And quickly. There's no delay at all -- you just take the damage and keep on taking it. If five guys fire on you at once, all five damages are calculated on your sorry end, like, RIGHT AWAY. So yeah, it's challenging, hence why I play so cautiously. If you want to play it, get DOSBox and the full game over at Abandonware Paradise.

Today is the day Windows 2000 no longer supported

Today is the day Windows 2000 that will no longer be supported and it's classified as abandonware. Windows XP SP2 supports as well so if you have Windows XP SP2 upgrade to SP3 now. If you a want link to SP3 i'll put in the description or PM the link. I'm going to use Windows 2000 because everything I need and all my software & hardware works fine. If any Windows 2000 Haters saying Win2k sucks or useless it's not. Windows 2000 still good for stuff and runs programs that XP can't not to mention I already have Windows 7. I can programs like iTunes,Firefox,Opera,and Virtual PC on Windows 2000. This is my tribute to Windows 2000 and Windows 2000 is still the best OS better any other classic version of Windows. In fact they make programs for Windows 98 like KernelEx a program compatability layer for modern application. Windows 2000 still supports USB flash drives.

Piranha - PC DOS Music - Level 1

Turn up tha volume! this is the level 1 track for the old DOS shoot 'em up "Piranha", by D-Designs. ABOUT THE MODULES: If you want to hear the Piranha soundtrack in all it's glory and quality, you need OpenModPlugTracker (it's a Module tracker that supports the AMF format). After you download Piranha from any abandonware out there (like XTCAbandonware, for instance), you'll find a lot of "MUSIC[...].DD" files in your Piranha\DATA directory. Rename their extensions from "DD" to "AMF". Now you can open them with OpenMPT and hear the modules. From OpenMPT, you can export them was WAV and do whatever you want with them (just look out for pattern loop commands. There are a few in the final patterns for the Level 1 module. They make the song loop endlessly so the WAV will never ceize to render - just delete these commands). To download the Menu and Level 1 tracks in high-quality MP3: www.easy-share.com

Expect it in the fall, but not after October - I'm saving October for a special Halloween LP... The background music is some random techno music I found; I actually don't know the name of it. I use it in one of my later Riven LP videos.

Gameplay of Death Rally a top-down perspective racing video game developed by Remedy, published by Apogee and distributed by GT Interactive. It was released on September 6, 1996. The game was later updated for modern operating systems (Windows XP Service Pack 3 and later OS) and re-released as freeware by Remedy Entertainment in 2009 and can be downloaded at Remedy's homepage: www.remedygames.com The original DOS version is NOT considered by Remedy itself as "Abandonware" so the free distribution of the original version is illegal. The objective of the game is to reach the top of the rank and defeat the Adversary, the undisputed king of the Death Rally in a race. But first, you'll have to earn money and rank points... And you're going to need them badly, since you start the game at the bottom of the ranks, with $495 in your pocket (Which is the first slap on your face in this game, since the so badly needed first tire upgrade costs 500 bucks...) and with the worst car in the entire game. Other ways of getting extra cash are to accept missions (colleting steroids AND win the race, eliminating a specific opponent), winning three races in a row, eliminating all the opponents or collecting money pickups on the tracks (and finish the race at least in 3rd place). Another PC classic, with solid gameplay and still enjoyable to play (At least I still have fun with this game in terms of both gameplay and nostalgia).

Need for Speed - Rennen durch die City

Hier spiele ich eine englischsprachige Version des ersten Teils von "Need for Speed" aus dem Jahre 1995. Hier fahre ich ein Rennen durch die Stadt mit 7 Gegnern und einem Porsche 911 Carerra. Das Spielprinzip bei "Need for Speed" - ganz klar, Rennen gewinnen. Man kann zwischen 8 verschiedenen Fahrzeugen und 7 verschiedenen Strecken (in der Special Edition 8) entscheiden. Das Spiel erschien erstmals 1994, jedoch für den 3DO, erst 1995 kam der Titel auch für den PC raus. In den Spiel war man noch weit von weiteren Spielemöglichkeiten wie Tuning und Schaden entfernt. Dies wurde jedoch viel später in den anderen NFS-Teilen eingebaut. Wie bereits erwähnt, ist dies der allererste Teil von Need for Speed. Offiziell hieß das Spiel "The Need for Speed". READ DESCRIPTION FOR INFORMATION ABOOT THIS GAME Another delivery of Unveiled Abandonware. Alec tests an old game unknown to the gaming scene, created by a hungarian gaming company and published by Activision. This game, now defunct, is one of the best mechanics & car tuning games I've tried so far. It isn't so arcadeish-childish like the NFS series, and while it lacks of good sound and graphics, the community around this game which is struggling for survival, has given the newcomer the posibility of installing thousands or millions of custom cars, sounds, textures and scripts. The game is highly modifiable, and it doesn't take a code monkey to start doing some custom stuff with this game. I am not sure if this game is still for sale anywhere as both its creator and the publisher have removed it from their catalogs ages ago. You can still get it off a torrent somewhere. Don't ask me for download links, please. In the LE version the game crashes when attempting to buy mufflers from the mufflers shop. This is due to an extra car which is bugged. To fix it, simply copy (DONT CUT) and rename it to mainmenucar, then replace the mainmenucar (use the windows search function to find it) and paste yours in there, replace. Then you can safely remove the BMW8.. rpk & its data folder and you'll be able to buy mufflers just fine. After totalling it. I had to fix it, add a new engine, tune it, and paint it. My Favorite Gaming Websites

These are my favorite gaming websites. Obviously, they're not sites where you play games, but sites where you can find good information on games, find old games (abandonware), or find documents or walkthroughs that can help you play the games. Replacementdocs.com is a good website for finding manuals and other documentation for older games. Documents for some newer games might not be available for various reasons. This site allows you to consider a wider range of purchases on amazon or ebay because you might not have to pay 30 extra bucks to get a game with a manual (which you would if you were a collector, no doubt, but if you just want to play the game...). Squakenet.com is a great source for finding old school games. You can find reviews on them, where to download them, links to documents to help you play them, and suggestions on other similar games you might have missed (it happens). This is one of the cleaner sites of this nature. It won't bring your computer to a standstill with crazy banner ads or require you to page through an ad between every page. Gamefaqs.com: what is there to say about this site. We all know about it, and it's still pretty useful. Browsing through games by console and genre can help you find games you missed or remind you about a game you might have forgotten. Aggregate ratings collected from other gaming sites help you decide whether a game is worth your time (generally if it's Playstation or newer). Abandonware-paradise.fr is a pretty good <b>...</b>

Puyo Puyo Sun - Quick Play

Just testing Fraps out a bit. This one had a little bit of a problem with the video initially because it wants to record at 75 FPS but the program itself is hard-coded to 32.5 or so frames per second. Needless to say it was all out of whack as an intermediate vid, but was cleaned up for viewing. Seven chain quick-end. Nothing fancy. If you want to pick up the game yourself, it's now abandonware for the PC AND has been translated. Check the site for download here @: www.puyonexus.net
